About our church

OUR CHURCH

Fernvale Community Church was planted by the previous Pastor Greg Muller, who was a pastor in Townsville before moving his family to the area.  In 1996, he had a dream to plant a church in Fernvale and he arrived in town with a desire to see transformation and revival impact the area. 

The church began in his home and later moved to the Fernvale Hall where it met for many years. As the families who attended had young children and teens, a vibrant youth group was established along with the usual Sunday School programs and a primary aged Kids Club on Friday afternoons.

As the children grew and left the area, the focus went to other areas and the church now meets in Fernvale Lions Centre where it has been for several years. 

Fernvale Community Care was established as a ministry of the Church, to supply budget frozen meals and other free items to anyone in the community. It operates out of the Fernvale Lions Centre on Friday mornings.

After Greg Mullers retirement, the church operated without a Pastor for just over a year until the appointment of our current Pastor John Adermann who has moved to the area with his wife Tina and youngest son Jethro.

The church is currently growing again, as a result of many young families coming into the area and the Kids Alive program for primary aged children still operates during the service on Sunday mornings. Prayer is high on the agenda and we pray as a church at the commencement of our services as well as a prayer meeting once a week.

We also have a vibrant Ladies group who meet once a month for brunch and a Men’s group who meet for an early breakfast once a month.
